lovely as a tree

Square card cut down from A4 in old olive.
Backing layer stamped on whisper white in certainly celery and pear pizazz inks using stamps from French foliage randomly across the sheet.
Image from Lovely as a tree stamped in black onto whisper white - bottom edge punched with spiral punch. Sides torn, sides and top sponged with old olive and crumb cake inks to define the panel.
Ribbon is old olive grosgrain.

cupcakes etc

have been playing with my new goodies, as I have a stinking cold and so cannot bake for market this week.
This one uses the cupcake wheel across the base of the crumb cake card, and the build-a-cupcake stamp set with the topnote die as background.
Fresh vintage here, coloured with marker pens, stamped onto whisper white, matted onto blue background.  The lace ribbon punch cut from the same blue card from the brights pack and glued down one side - we made a similar card at Hethersett last month. Card base is again crumb cake.
Another crumb cake base card, cut down from A4 to give a square card. Mat is real red, top note die again using a piece of embossed cream card bought somewhere - Thetford show?. Main images from  My friend from the spring mini, stamped in baja breeze and real red inks onto whisper white, cut out using an x-cut square die and matted onto baja breeze.
Colour scheme was from the Simplystampin challenge this week

feels like Christmas!

My starter kit arrived yesterday - really felt like Christmas again - a huge box full of goodies! After removing a mountain of brown paper, these shots are some of the contents - I got 4 stamp sets, including the broadsheet alphabet, which came as an extra for signing up in March.
Another of my chosen sets was the Greenhouse garden, which was the one I picked to start playing (working)  with...........
and straightaway I found out the major omission in the starter kit - no stamp-a-ma-jig! Now logically, if you are going to include a two-step stamp as a basic part of the kit, then you ought to include the essential accessory, yes?
The only similar stamp I have used before has been the mini Cath Kidston style set at a stampers 6 evening at Lisa's, where I managed fine without a gadget - doesn't work with greenhouse garden though!
I fiddled around and made a rough one using a couple of acrylic blocks, which worked reasonably well after a couple of tries. Needless to say, said gadget is now on the 'need'  list................
I used a ready-made square card blank in  white as a base. the torn panel across the middle was [art of a larger piece of whisper white card stamped with almost all the French foliage stamps in pear pizazz ink. The flower was stamped in baja breeze and black inks, cut out and layered over the torn panel with dimensionals - leaves from French foliage again, this time in old olive ink. Greeting from a SAB set I won in the raffle at the last all-day event at Hethersett, also stamped in old olive.
The next day at Hethersett is on 29th April - details on Lisa's blog for anyone interested

a challenge

After much faffing around, and  changing my mind, I have signed up to become a Stampin Up demo.
This blog is just for my Stampin Up posts, unless they are for my usual challenges, in which case they will still appear on vroncards.

I am waiting for my starter kit to arrive, but these pix are of older cards made with SU products
Sail away stamp from a mini cat, matted onto blue card, then onto a crumpled up and distressed map stamp, then onto a bit of netting from a bag of fruit - makes a good fishing net!
The bird is from Beautiful Season, stmaped on white, painted with watercolour pencils, cut out with a nestabilities die, mounted onto a green card using the top note die, then onto white. Can't remember offhand where the sentiment came from.
Last card uses Just believe, one of my favourite sets. Background scene was sponged using a mix of old retired SU ink spots, with some always artichoke and old olive in the front. Stamp was stamped in black 3 times across the card. Thin mount of silver card, and a square card cut from A4 in always artichoke
