marry me and velveteen stamping

Following a link while bloghopping, I found Mynnette's Technique Tuesday blog, and the velveteen stamping post - now this was sometime ago, and I meant to have a go, never got round to it, then refound the blog and the challenge was still open..............
I spent an annoying amount of time trying various combinations of paper and inks and stamps before succeeding ! This is basically a variation on a resist technique, and after trying SU whisper white ink, Stazon opaque white, Claudine Hellmuth's multi medium all with equal lack of success, I switched stamps completely, got out the trusted Versamark and glossy card  - and it worked! I used the large silhouette stamp from the My friend set for the background, and baja breeze ink on the silhouette stamp from Marry me. Flushed with success, I repeated it with the SU white ink and night of navy ink, which also worked.
I decided I was probably trying to use stamps which were not bold enough in the first place.
I turned both pieces into quick and very simple cards.  The blue square base was cut down from A4 baja breeze card, with the image mounted onto linen textured silver card after stamping the base image in versamark onto the base. The sentiment from Marry me was stamped in baja breeze inside the frame, then punched out and given a silver frame. A very delicate card, that I thought would work for an anniversary one.
The darker image also on the silver, but this time using the topnote die, then onto a base of wisteria wonder.
