ILWS bloghop

Welcome to the ILWS bloghop - thanks to Laura for organising all 37 of us!   You should have come here from Sarah, (loved the snowflakes on an earlier post ) but you can start here at the very beginning...
I had several ideas using stuff from the new catalogues - and a wish list a mile long to go with them! After severely pruning the list, I found that a lot was not going to be available on pre-order, so had to order it when the autumn/winter one went live and hope that it would arrive in time.
Fortunately, it did - just, as the ornament stamps only arrived last week - but other things caught up with me, and I ran out of time.Excuses apart, I did have fun when I eventually got around to playing..........
The blue card was actually the last one I made - blue card is night of navy, gold is non-SU from stash. I stamped the ornament stamp in versamark, gold embossed it and cut it out by hand, added gold cord for hangers and dimensionals to the back of the lefthand ornament. I used the new lacy brocade embossing folder for the backing panel, and brayered the new midnight muse ink {love this colour) over it first - it doesn't really show on the photo, but adds a bit of extra depth.

Brown card also uses the lacy brocade folder - can tell I like it, can't you!- on crumb cake card, and I brayered more crumb cake ink over the embossed panel afterwards. The 'hanger' was cur from black card using the sizzlits swirl die, and the ornaments from the sadly-retired mocha morning papers using one of the smallest dies from  the holiday ornaments die set. The hanger is flat on the card, and the ornaments are on dimensionals. The greeting is from the beautiful season set, stamped in black on white, punched out with the modern label punch and sponged round the edge with crumb cake- gold layer used the same punch shape, cut in half and used as a frame. Base card is early espresso - I wanted a very restrained card that could be used to send greetings to someone perhaps going through a bad patch in their life who would not appreciate the usual cheerful card!
The green card is actually the first one I finished - base card is cherry cobbler, gold is from stash again, and the embossed panel is gumball green core'dinations card . I embossed the panel using the holiday frames folder, then sanded it down lightly. The stamp from the holiday  ornaments set was stamped on cherry cobbler, embossed in gold and cut out by hand. A gold cord bow was added as a hanger before mounting the ornament onto dimensionals. I did originally ink the folder in gumball green ink and embossed onto whisper white, which gives a lovely effect, then ended up giving those bits away to a friend.................
Next blog is Christa's for more super ideas...........
